Which Target?
Right now I have the block target. I saw that other post and heard alot of bad things about it. I dont like my block that much either. I was wondering what you guys suggest for targets. I heard some good things about the cube and about the Rhino block. All suggestions are welcome.

RE: Which Target?
The best thing for field points is a good bag. The best for broadheads in my opinion is the yellow jacket. Takes a beating and removal of arrows is a breeze.

RE: Which Target?
I use a square cube target I bought for wally world for around $30, it has two field point sides and two boradhead sides. I've been shooting on a single fieldtip side for hundreds of shots now with no problems.
Like B-Techrapture has stated, I've also heard that bag targets are the best thing going for fieldtips. And for broadheads, I've heard many, many people reccomend the yellow jacket. |
RE: Which Target?
personally i think all foam will fall abart sooner or later with average shooting(jmo) i have the basspro (mckenzie) block cant go wrong for 30 bucks but i am not a target expert lol

RE: Which Target?
I GOT A BAG DONT KNOW A NAME OF IT BUT, I CAN SHOOT BROADHEADS AND FEILD POINTS THROUGHT IT. STOPS FIELD POINTS EASILY AND BROAD HEAD JUST ABOUT ALWAYS COME OUT BUT THE ARROW USUALLY STOPS AT THE FLETHCING AND I JUST PULL IT THE REST OF THE WAY OUT. DOSNT DO HARDLY ANY DAMAGE TO FLECTHING.

RE: Which Target?
I have owned both the cube and the block. Both where a peice of junk. Have
had good luck with morrels bag target for field points and yellow jacket for broadheads. hope this helps. |
RE: Which Target?
I will be the dissenting voice,i have had a block for 4 years,it has taken between 8000-9000 shots (field tips and broadheads) from 5 different shooters and is still stopping the broadheads let alone the field tips. the shooting poundage on the bows range from 50# to 76#.[:o]

RE: Which Target?
I do agree with ruuk. The block is a good target, but like anything else it will wear out on time. Especially if you can and do keep shooting arrows into the same hole. That's why there are 5 spots on the one side. And turn it around once in a while. It does have two sides, you know. And you start shooting any layered foam target with blades it's gonna tear it up. And for those who want one to last almost forever there is a Block made for ranges. It's 4' square and about 14" thick and weighs a bunch. It costs $500 but I'll bet most will only ever have to buy one in a lifetime.
Now we have things like the Yellowjacket that are designed for broadheads, but not field points. This does work well, but I hear that field or target points are tough to pull. I just read in one of the magazines that this has been changed this year and that the new improved Yellow Jacket will be field-point compatable. |
RE: Which Target?
just scored as white bag target for 5$ at wally world. its the time of the year they dont want to put hunting stuff in the storage room. threy rather get rid of it cheap.;)
