arrows + broadheads
i got a new hoyt last year and i killed 2 deer with it i liked the way it shot and everything but i wanted to try new arrows and maybe new broad heads. the bow is kinda slow being it is only set up at 53 pounds. "average speed is 215fps" but i am planning on moveing it up as my arm gets better. "hurt my shoulder"
my arrows are carbon furry's
my broadheads where 4 blade mussy's 100 gr.
i don't have any clue to which arrows to try but i was wondering if any of them will help speed up the shot a little.
and these new broadheads that are supposed to fly like feild points are kind of intresting me.
so what would you suggest?

my pro shop man told me today...as I was trying to decide on good ole XX75 or switch to carbon, aluminum is heavier thus will hit with more force= sinking deeper. The carbon is lighter faster but not as much force upon penetration. I think your good on the arrows for speed. Not sur about broad heads but keep in mind, you killed 2 deer last year. sounds like you got the right set up. sure, you could torque it up a bit, but why fix what ain't broken.
good luck and post yopur results/decision,

i am going to stay with the muzzy's but i may end up going back to the aluminum's not real sure. i shot acouple the other day that i had left from 2 or 3 years ago and they where shooting really really good. the probem is i don't like how they bend. so i will have to think about it some more.

Go to each companies web sites and look at their specs when you are trying to decide on a particular weight range for a finished arrow.
Deer are not especially hard to get an arrow through.

I shoot cabelas arrows. 10.5 grains per inch. They are plenty fast, and pack a good wollop when they hit. Try crimson Tallon broadheads, they say they shoot like field points, but I can't confirm that as I haven't tried them myself.

My wife shoots a 52 pound bow with 1916 xx75 ony 1 deer that she has shot has not been a pass thuogh.I think this year wife and I will switch to carbon arrows they now make them in a lot heaver than they did just a few years back.
As for boadheads I do not much like mussy, I use cut on impact blades the G5s are very good.steelforce broadheads are what my wife uses. They shoot very good in her bow.
