IMO - it is a much more stable bow (even with the lower brace height). It has been known for years that short ATA bows are a lot less forgiving. Although, the outback shoots like a longer bow than it really is, I think the LX is a more accurate shooting bow.

Dalejbrass, You are correct on your comment, however there are 3 factors figured into the forgiveness ratings. The first being the ATA, the second being the brace height and the third being the speed. Alot depends on your height. Smaller framed people can get away with a little less brace height and also less ATA. I would base my decision on the frame of the person and also on how that particular bow feels. I am a taller fellow and prefer bows with 38 inches as a minimum ATA and also 8 inches of brace height. Smaller framed guys might feel that this bow is too big. Usually with smaller frames come smaller draw lengths and a shorter brace height is needed to keep the speeds up. I say if one feels better than the other and you can hit the mark, buy the bow. I shot the LX for a little while and it is a good bow, but I am far more accurate with my new set up which has a 38 in ATA and a 8.25 brace height. Huntersfriend.com gives the comparisons of many bows out there, if this may help you in your selection.

To me there's no thought in the matter. Shoot the Switchback. It's a combination of the lx and the outback. I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. But, you can't go wrong with any Mathews product so good luck. I do recomend shooting the switch though.
