Climbing Steps
 

I'm thinking about buying a hang-on stand. I'm a big man (300 lbs plus) and I'm having trouble finding climbing steps that can safely get me up in to my stand. Everything I've found so far is rated for 300 lbs or less. Are there any climbing steps out there for me? I want to stay away from screw-ins. Thanks.

I too am one of them there bigger fellas. I don't know of any steps to help you with. I use screw ins myself. If you haven't bought a stand yet, have you thought of maybe purchasing a climber. I used a buddy of mines once this last season and could of easily sat all day (20 ft up). No time involved to set up or pull up to where you wish to perch. Anyway just a thought.

IMO, for a combination of portability, safety, and ease of use...
you won't find better than Lone Wolf Sticks
...wgt rating of 350 lbs;)
I would also recommend going with 4 sticks.

Good move. I had this screw-in break off this past November while
taking down a stand from a hedgetree. NOT GOOD[:o]

Climbing sticks may be best and it seems you want to stay away from screw-ins. If for some reason you do try a screwin step I highly recommend Cranford's Ezy Climb rod step......I don't know what the weight rating is though. I for one would stay away from the less expensive Ameristeps.
