finger bows

what is the minimum axle-to-axle length for a finger bow. I was told it was 40.5 inches. Seems long. Any input?
thanks,

Hoyt's Pro Tec is specifically made for finger shooters.... 37 1/2"... One awesome bow...

there isn't a set length requirement per se. it really depends more on the comfort of the string angle at full draw. i am currenlty shooting a 34" ata bow with no problems. the finger pinch doesn't bother me at all and i am shooting 3 fingers on the string. i know some guys who are shooting only two fingers on the string to keep string pinch to a minimum. i guess it all depends on how comfortable you feel the bow is at full draw. i will, however, be buying a bow near 40" ata for my next purchase, as i feel i shoot better with longer ata bows...do a search in the archives for posts by Arthur P. he has had some very informative posts on this very topic...

I agree with sho-me. This depends on the draw length and if the shooter is using the split finger or three under draw. My draw length is extremely long. I shoot XX78's at 33 7/8" for hunting. I tried the Ultra tec with 3000 limbs, but this was not as comfortable. The finger pinch was on the edge. I settled for the Pro tec with the XL Pro limbs. This bow has a 47 3/4" axle to axle and 9 5/8" brace height. Outstanding bow for long draw shooters. Average draw length shoots should be able to shoot the Ultra tec with 38 to 41" axle to axle and 8 /12" brace height.

My uncle shoots the hoyt protec. Not only is it a great finger bow but the ata is 37 1/2 and when shooting it with fingers it is whisper quiet. The bow is very accurate and is an excellent choice.
