Anyone using Natural Gear camo?
 

If so, what do you think of it, in the field? I think I'm buying into their rationale concerning camo...

took says a lot for it am back in the woods again

looks like it would be really good in pines or rocky open areas. have never tried it but heck I will try anything once!

While some of what they say sounds good, I simply disagree with most of their advertising.
High contrast DOES break up a silhouette, (Look at ASAT camo) and soft fuzzy lines can be had by washing your old camo in hot water <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
One of the guys in our deer camp uses Nat gear....looks like he is wearing a brown jump suit beyond 10 yards.

I have never used it specifically, but whatever patterns I happen to grab on any given day, I always make sure my top and bottom do no match. IMO this breaks up the human form even better by using two different patterns to contrast each other.

Take a good look at the picture above the word Bowhunting on the right of the main page. Now squint your eyes a little and take the picture slightly out of focus and guess what there is a guy standing next too a tree! I agree with Stealth_Force, the pattern is nowhere near big enough for all terrain multi season work and I don't think it would work well in brush.
Dense old growth hardwoods - Yes
Sage plains - Nope
Corn and Bean Fields - Nope

It will work in some Very specific areas just none I hunt.

Thanks fellas. I'm torn between natural gear, realtree hardwoods grey and cabelas new camo pattern. I'm too cheap to by one of each, so lot's of thinking to do.

Take a serious look at Predator. I have had Deer, Elk and African Plains game within 30 yards on a regular basis.

If on the other hand all you are hunting is Deep Hardwoods then I don't think you will go wrong with any of those patterns.

I've looked at Predator, Looks good, I also like Sticks and Limbs camo, problem is the fabric choices. I plan to by an uninsulated parka and pants combo that is quiet, water and wind proof. Neither of these patterns will fit these bills due to the limitation on fabric selections. For what it's worth, the majority of my hunting is from an tree stand in woods...

I believe Skyline offers the fabrics you're looking for. From a treestand, I believe this pattern in hard to beat.

Rob, are there any other sights for ASAT? That one leaves a little to be desired, a lot of the links don't work... (never mind, I called the guy, he is the CEO of asat, only distributor. They currently only have the 3-d suits, will be introducing new product hopefully by 10-1-02, and there websight is under construction. I would like to check it out thoroughly.

Have you bowhunted with their 3-d wear? Any problems encountered?

i would not buy it if i were hunting woods...swamps...etc. all of the reasons stated about it not being that great..i agree with..to solid at a distance. get mossy oak..or real tree

Havn't used the natgear so can't comment on it.But have to say that the Realtree xtra brown i got is good.Have been withen 20 yds of numorous deer hunters and even paintball players without being noticed. Granted I have had it for awile and it is a lil faded out and softer looking than when new.but if it's not broke why fix it?
