Arrowrest Problem - PLEASE HELP
First of all, I'm brand new to this bowhunting thing so please be gentle. I've hunted with a rifle for over 25 years but am going to try the bow this year.
I have an arrowrest question...I've started out with equipment that I'm sure is not the best quality. I've done this so that I'm not out gobs of money if I don't like bow hunting. My arrowrest is a two prong system (no fall-away) with a rubber coating of some sort over the prongs. I've only shot about 60 arrows in practicing so far but already the coating is rubbing away from my arrowrest prongs and I can hear metal on metal (metal prong on arrow shaft) when I draw the arrow back. I know I could simply replace the coating material but I'll be in the same boat in another 60 arrows. Does anyone have any advice on this or should I just keep replacing the coating as it wears away? Any help would be appreciated. ALWAYS CALL YOUR SHOT. |
RE: Arrowrest Problem - PLEASE HELP
Depending on the rest you can get some teflon to replace the shrink tube on the rest.
I have a Bodoodle rest the prongs are not round but sort of flat so I just use some Dr Scholls Moleskin Plus padding on the prongs. Some other guys might have some more ideas but it would be a bit more help to know what sort of rest it is. ![]() |
