Which Rest
I was wondering which rests everyone would recommend to a hunter who occasionally shoots 3-D. Accuracy, durability, quietness, forgiveness, and reliability are important to me. I'm currently using a Bododdle, but would like more fletching clearance, with carbons, and am considering the trophy taker, whisker biscuit, and GK Star Hunter. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

RE: Which Rest
Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you even be considering the Whisker Biscuit if you are worried about clearance on your fletchings??
I do have a suggestion though, Tiger Tuff rest. If I didn't shoot a Bodoodle myself, I would check into this one. I got a buddy that has one and shoots 3D and hunting with it. Is quiet, accurate, and the arrow wont fall off. But, I have been using my Bodoodle for about 3yrs now and have had no troubles shooting 2",3",4" vanes and feathers with it, so I'll stick with what works. |
RE: Which Rest
I'm a muzzy zerro effect man but from the ones you mentioned i would get a trophy taker I've seen some pepole shoot very well with these at 3d shoots

RE: Which Rest
Cam Man, I'm having good luck with the NAP fall away rests. I've used both the 2000 and 4000. The 2000 is simpler, but not as easily adjusted as the 4000. Either will make a good hunting and 3D rest.

RE: Which Rest
I'd say go with the muzzy zero effect rest. I don't own one but after this season I hope to be purchasing one!

RE: Which Rest
The GK Mirage has been an outstanding rest for me.Tightest long rangs groups I've ever fired. Quality construstion with few moving parts,a great hunting and 3D rest. Check it out.

RE: Which Rest
Cam Man,
I am brand new with the Muzzy Zero Effect rest, but from what I've seen from it, it would be SUPER HARD to beat. Very quiet (no sound at all), 100 percent clearance with the fletching, no way for arrows to fall off rest, and as forgiveness, I've tightened my groups up to half of where I was before getting this rest. No tuning of your bow is necessary after installing this rest, every arrow flys perfect. The MZE is pricey, but well worth the money. I've been shooting bows for more than 20 years, and this is about as big of an advancement as comparing the bows of the 80's to the bows of today. Whichever you choose, take a hard look at this one before you buy.. GB Smack 'em where it hurts! |
