Please Recommend some QUIET packable rainwear

Could someone recommend me some packable rainwear that is QUIET. Several items that I have bought from Cabela's with the "dry plus" logo were just too loud for me, while drawing my bow. I really don't have $300 dollars for the high dollar packable rainwear in Cabela's. Is there anything else that is affordable?

When I saw your topic I was all set to say that all rainwear I have ever seen or tried was noisy, but the quietest I have come across is the Browning Goretex rain stuff I now have. Then I read the message and, well, this is expensive clothing - and is not all that quiet. Maybe some of the quieter dry weather garmets would work if they were treated with some sort of temporary waterproofing. What happens if one soaks a quiet outfit in one of these spray waxes that they use in a car wash? (Ihave never found any of the permanently waterproofed cotton materials to be all that quiet either, and they usually are heavy and uncomfortable.)

Come to think of it, if it really is raining, does it matter the noise one makes when drawing a bow? Doesn't the rain itself make a lot of noise falling to cover? (Where I hunt it rarely rains during hunting season.)

Cabela's MTO50 jacket and pants is what you are looking
for. I've owned several Gore-Tex rainsuits and this
one is worth the extra $$$<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>.

I have MTO50, Browning hydrofleece, and Cabela's dry plus under saddle cloth. It is by far my favorite. None of them I love. I do like the saddle cloth though.

I've got some of that Cabelas Rain Suede packable camo. It seems quiet enough for me and I have been very pleased with its performance.

I ran across some rain gear by MAD DOG at a sporting goods shop yesterday that was the quietest and softest camo material I have ever felt. I didn't notice the price but I'll probably have to have some before season begins in 49 more days.

I used cabela's rain suede last year. I did a wonderful job for me. Although, I only had to use it once. It was more affordable than some of the other gortex gear.

Happy hunting,
