Great choice Maytom. A great little piece of glass for the money. I just picked up a pair of Zeiss Conquest 8x30s but I may buy another Legend 8x32 as well. I just love the way those binoculars feel in my hand and the image is quite good considering the price.

Hokie3, It is fairly simple, if you are going to hunt for whitetails you won't need 10X42, buy the 8X42. If you are going to hunt sheep or goat where you have to see a long, long way buy 10X42. I do a lot of elk hunting and the 8X42 is better in low light conditions. Buy the best you can afford though, good glass makes a difference.

I was a vendor atthe last LA gun show and I needed a new pair of Binocs so I went over to a distributor that had some no name brands. to find out these were the same that get Pentax, Leupolds ect. name on them. Yes I spent a fair dollar, but were a little cheaper then the big names, and these are crystal clear 10X42. I do allot of spot and stalk, looking across canyons in the Sierra Nevadas were I used to hunt, and these were perfect. Not heavy either.

I like the 8x42's. If you are looking for a good deal, check out the Celestron Outland.

7x and 8x are very good in wooded areas. The 10x 12x are excellent for open areas with few or no obstructions between the user and target. My favorite is the 7x in Pa. Very easy to find your target and yet enough magnification for itentification. Above the 12x I would suggest a spotting scope.
