Need help with cold feet!

What do you recommend as far as rubber boots and socks for cold weather?
Also, I just purchased the Arctice Shield Boot Covers. Are there any opionions on these?

If you want to keep your feet warm, keep your face warm first.

If your face gets cold your body starts limiting blood flow to the extremities. What's the furthest extremity from your heart?

If your feet still get cold, put carpet on your tree stand.

Now you need to start looking at your boots if they are still getting cold. Extra wool socks are good UNLESS THEY MAKE YOUR BOOTS FEEL TIGHTER. Better a loose fit your toes can wiggle around in than a tight fit with two pair of socks.

Next thing short of new boots, put bread sacks on your feet before you ever put socks on. It keeps your insulation dry and fluffy. Wet feet get cold.

When it really get's cold I get out my Iceman Pack boots I bought for ice fishing in WI. Otherwise I wear my LaCross pack boots with removable insulation for different temps.

Head over to The DeerHunting.com forum and look for the one titled Cold Toes ??? started by WantBuck. You will be amazed at the number of answers and realize you're not alone. Right now it's on page two about 1/3 of the way down.

Jared, those boot covers work great. When it's real cold out, I typically wear them and my slightly altered Heater Body Suit and I have never gotten the least bit cold with that combination.

The Arctic Shield Boot Covers work great. Just remember to put them on BEFORE your feet get cold. I usually put mine on right before I get in my tree stand.

I also have a pair of the boot shields. My wife bought me a pair a couple of years ago for Christmas and I don't go late season bow hunting in Wisconsin any more w/o them, they work great. CR has a point, make sure you put them on BEFORE your feet get cold. I wish someone had told me that the first time I used them. It took awhile to get the toes warm.

Start with Merino wool socks. No other material can compare.

I have been bowhunting for 30 years and the only thing I have found to keep my toes from freezing when it is cold is foot warmers. You can buy them at any Walmart, put them in your boots before you go hunting and they will keep your feet warm for up to 6 hours. You can get the Toasty toes brand or just the regular Foot Warmers brand. Use them and throw them away. I stay alot warmer totally with my feet warm and comfortable! They have worked great for me!
