I shoot a thunderhead 125,i would like to know if anybody shoots a game tracker first cut expandable,it looks like a very good broadhead.

Swamper, While I wouldn't consider my experience with the First Cut Expandables to be exstensive, I have tested them and did take a decent buck with one (125 grain).

I believe 5 shot gave them a score of 20 in his testing results commenting that he feels they are at the top of the middle of the pack in the expandable market.

Usually on this type of broadhead the hinge pin is the weak point of the head. Interestingly enough I would break the "ears" or "wings" as some people call them, before the hinge pin would break. Of course this would happen only when I shot them through a steel drum or my 3/4" plywood.

On the buck the head came through fully intact. It was a twenty yard broad side shot from an 20 foot tree stand. Surprisingly, though I was shooting a moderate 60 lbs of kinetic energy, it was not what I consider a complete pass through. The tip did cut a hole the far side but only the small fixed blade tip came through. The arrow stayed in the buck as he ran away and eventually fell out the entrance side some 20 yards down the trail. The blood trail was what I consider ok and I found the deer about 100 yards away.

I really think there are better heads on the market, but they are not bad. Personaly though, the Rocky mtn Snypers are a much better head, and have the blade style tip the first cuts do.
