I have 4 older LaCrosse boots ranging from non insulated 16" grange to ice kings. I bought a new pair of the 800 gram 18" insulated alpha burley sports and can tell you that they are a vast improvement over the older models. They are extremely comfortable and weigh about 1/3 less than my other pair of 800 gram insulated ankle fit burleys. Get them 1 size larger than your shoe size. If you have wide feet be careful because they tend to be somewhat narrow.

I bought a pair of the Alpha Burly Sports this year... 800 gram thinsulate. Warmest and most comfortable boot I've ever worn. I will be buying a pair of uninsulated ones for turkey season!

I hunt northern New England and have used LaCrosse boots for years due to cold temps, deep snow and wet boggy terrain. A little over a year ago I bought a pair of 18" 1200 gram thinsulite LaCrosse for hunting and ice fishing. I used them all deer season and all winter while ice fishing almost every day. This year before a trip to Newfoundland on a Caribou hunt I checked the boots and they had a couple of cracks just above the ankles. I emailed LaCrosse and told them that I had other boots from them that were 10 years old and still in good shape. They had me send them back and they gave me a brand new pair without any charge. World class people and definitely interested in doing the right thing.
