Russell Moccasins
I've read a lot about them, surfed their web site etc and since deciding on elk hunting this fall I decided to take the plunge. What I did was do the measurement sheet - several around your feet, calves and lower legs (printable off their web site), and then I sent it to them and asked what they might have in stock that would fit my feet. Always before I have had trouble with boots fitting, having to "break" them in etc.
Anwyay, 3 days after sending the letter they called, saying my foot was a 8 EE and that they had a pair of High Country Hunters in stock that would fit. Normally $300+ I got them for $205.
The leather is extremely soft and comfortable. I was surprised how tightly they can lace up around the ankle and lower leg for extremely good support for hiking. The boot fits great with the exception that with light socks I have a little bit of extra room in the boot (not in the toe, in the body of the boot itsself). With medium or heavy socks, it'll fit great though. The air bob sole is great too. Overall, I am VERY pleased with the boot. I haven't water teated it yet, but its suppose to be water proof too. They are non insulated, and probably weigh in at 3 1/2 pounds or so. I hate spending $200+ dollars on boots/shoes, but for something that'll last a LONG time and make my feet feel this good - its worth it ~!
