"classic report" Muzzy 3 blad 100 grn

Accuracy 4 points
plywood 5 points
steel drum 4 points
tire 4 points
blades 3 points
cutting dia. 3 points
nonmechanical head 2points
total score 25 with a blade sharpness ratting of B

This is the head by wich I judge all other broadheads. It has in my opinion all the qualities that make up a great head.
Accuracy is very good, and these heads have flown the same as my field points out of every well tuned bow I have tried them with.
In the 3/4" plywood, they busted through without any damage, going through about 1/2 way up the shaft. In the tire, they penitrated the first side, with several inches of the shaft, agian no damaged. In the steel drum it went through the first side, with the tip and the front part of the blades sticking through the back side, again no damage at all. I have found that ALL Muzzy heads have preform similer to these, reguardless of number of blades or cutting diameter, and they are all fine choices for just about anyone. They are also the most convenient replaceable blade brodhead I have tried. Once you put them together they stay together, and their are no O rings or locking collers to fool with. the only complaint one may have could be the blade sharpness. They will shave hair right out of the pack, but not as easy as The Rocky mtn or newarchery products heads I have tested. I still consider them plenty sharp for hunting, and Muzzy is now working on making them sharper than ever. You won't go wrong using any of the heads Muzzy makes, in my opinion anyway.

5 shot, great review as always. I do have a question for you. I have set up more hunting bows than I care to remember, for myself and others. While I personally use thunderhead 125`s, I have tuned in tons of bows with muzzys. I have found that muzzy 100 gr. 3 blade heads are rather simple to get flying straight, just like muzzy 125`s or thunderhead 125`s. Here is the kicker, I have attempted to get thunderhead 100 grain broadheads to fly from probably 50 different bow/arrow combos with very, very limited success! If I get tired of trying, I just screw in a muzzy 100, index the vanes/feathers, make sure it spins true, and bingo...they fly great!
Have you ever noticed this problem? I mean I get these thunderhead 100`s indexed, spinning true as can be, the perfect match for the cam design and poundage, and still no cigar! I have gotten to the point that ehen someone wants me to set up their bow with 100 grain broadheads, I tell them to go get muzzys and come back.

BigCountry the muzzy 100 3 blade is a very easy head to tune, I am not sure why you are having trouble with the thunerhead 100's. The biggest problem I have had with thnderheads is that you can get that rubber o-ring to tight & then the head wobbles bad. other than that I really couldn't say.

5 shot good review, yes I agree the muzzy is the head I judge all others by. My all time favorite muzzy is the 4 blade 130's. I have had a ton success with them & the 3 blade 100 lives up to it's bigger brothers reputation, "bad to the bone"!

good report 5er

I did have a few doubts about my muzzy 100 3 blade at the increased speed of the Pat.

But with the "fine" tuning done they are hitting in the same place as my field points.
I cant see my self going to another broad head unless it is the Muzzy 100 4 blade

LOOK OUT SKIPPY HERE I COME.

I agree, someone should pay me to do this! LOL<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> I have not done near the amound of shooting with the 100 grn thunderheads, but I did find them to be accurated heads, grouping right their with my Muzzy 100 grn 3 blades. That was only out of one bow though. I have heard more good reports about Muzzys flying great than any other fixed blade head, so thier must be somthing to it. I can also say that the Rocky mtn heads I have tested have been excellent in the accuracy dept as well.
