MZE, anyone not happy with it?
 

Guys, I was thinking of a rest for my next bow and I like the MZE. I was curious if there was anyone out there who didn't like it and why. Yes I know it can be difficult to set up. The few people I know who have them really like them.

I have two bows both with the Muzzy I love them and wouldnt trade for anything else. I didnt find it that hard to set up at all. Just watch the video.

I have one on one of my bows - greatest rest I ever had -- but if you like to stalk, the WB is hard to beat. One tip if you choose the MZE; put some moleskin on the claw -- it will quiet it down considerably on the draw and while stalking.

I'm not exactly "not happy with it" as I purchased it off ebay for a good price. I was disappointed in all the plastic. I'll use it for 3d , but there's no way I'll use it for hunting , too many murphys law probables with it. Just my opinion!

I have the Muzzy on my 04 Patriot Dually and I love it ,it's a little tricky at first ,but it come's with a instructional video that make's it simple .After you set it up a couple of time's it's a snap and you'll be able to install it in minute's .If you have a problem Ausie Guy is a pro at installing them. I might be able to help ypou out as well.But it's the best rest I've used so far ,and I've used many.

Yeh, I got an opinion on it. I put one on my Pearson Freedom last year. Found that it is NOT difficult to set up (I'm one who does not read directions). It's not a nightmare. Just gotta be willing to tinker a bit. I'm not a fan of plastic on bows, but some things seem to work better than others. The rest is OK. It works every time. "Murphy" will have a hard time screwing this thing up unless the whole bow goes kaput. It has to work every time as the bow rigging physically pushes it down out of the path of the arrow. It works flawlessly.

Now, this year I got another new bow. Over the summer I put 8 different drop aways on it. All those stupid things with stupid cords that make them work, after tying it to one of the cables. Well from experience I knew the MZE would not work well on this bow. Bows with sharply parallel limbs and short cable slide travel do not lend a good workable platform for the MZE. So anyway, rather than mess around with all the other gizmo's I put a good ole Star Hunter on when setting it up for hunting.

Long story to say that the MZE works as well or better than many others. Ya wanna know something else? It's been around for over 10 years, too.

I have to dissagree with you on the issue of sharply parallel limb's because I've got a MZE working just fine on my 04 BowTech Patriot Dually,as you say a little tinkering and it work's perfect every time .

I shoot a lot year round and I have nothing but praise for the MZE. Mine has been on my MQ1 for two years now and I have not had to touch it since installing it. I went to full helical vanes without worry of rest contact and broadheads are flying great. I give a big thumbs up to the MZE.:D

I also have a MZE on an 04' Pat Dually. I love the rest but have a question for you. I tuned the bow myself and had to extend the rest way out away from the riser. If you looked at the center of the shelf and then lookked at my rest, I am way to the left of center. Now, looking at how much the cams are offset to the left from the center of the limbs, it makes since to me. Did you notice this? Almost as if bowtech needed to make a larger shelf or somthing cause I am definately way left of center. Did you notice anything like this? I guess an easy way of saying this is to say my rest is in line with the cams and not center limb and it looks funny to the eye. Just wondered if you are set up in a similar way or noticed anything like this. The bow shop "pro" set up my MZE for center limb and flight was terrible, fishtailing. I redid it according to Eastons tuning guide and want to make sure I did right. Flight is definately better from this position. Thanks

I just got my bow to have a look ,I presume your talking about your hook?now do you still have the shelf plate on that MZE sent for your bow ? From what I notice here is that the center of my hook is actually right on to the center of my shelf ,but I have taken off my base bracket or overdraw bracket and shoot directly off of my shelf . I had some vibration issue's and Ausie Guy gave me a tip to get rid of the overdraw bracket.
