Are Improved WB disc actually better?
I purchased a WB last year and just recently put it on my outback. I had the original black disc and had to trim it up a bit to get consistent flight. However, I now understand that there is a new improved disc with brown fibers and a small section of the original black. For all you Wb shooter that have switched, is it better and do you still have to trim it? Thanks.

the new wb is much better and alot easier on vanes and you really dont have to trim it either.

RE: Are Improved WB disc actually better?
I Shot the WB the last three hunting seasons. I bought a new B2 biscuit this year. I set it up and put maybe 150 shots through it. Minimal fletching wear and no need to trim like the original model. It is a definite improvement from the old ones. As long as you still use straight or a slight offset on your fletching configuration.
I ended up deciding to not use the WB this season though. I went with an APA ultimate twister. Total containment drop away. I wanted to go with more of a helical then the WB permitted me to. To me 290+ FPS with broadheads and 4 inch straight fletching is a chance I don't want to take. Sure they fly good in the yard and at the range but I just ain't confident with my hunting arrow setup like that. Good luck out there:) |

IMO you can shoot helical just fine with a WB. I've done it for the past two seasons with excellent resluts and minimal ware. Both vanes and feathers.

Yes they are a great improvement in the vane wear area. I used to trim the old WB and that is no longer necessary with the new ones.

I have recently changed to WB2 and think it works great and with all of the shots I have put on it this year it is holding up great. Better than the original.

Does anyone shoot a WB with fingers? Does it work?
