anyone know anything about Hoyt FastFlights
 

i am looking at buying a hoyt fast flight and was wondering if it is worth the money or if it is not going to inpress me that much. i am shooting a 2004 pse firestrom light CF right know and just looking to add to the collection.

I had a Hoyt Super Slam Fast Flight in the early 90's. It had dual cams on it and one hell of a set of limbs on. Top out at 87 pound with a pair 70 pound of limbs. Shot great when I could keep the cams in time. The main problem was cable stretch. When everything was in tune it was one fast bow. If you look for a bow to play around with go haed and buy it, but I would not use it as my main hunting bow.

That first generation fastflight was nasty stuff about creeping and putting wheels out of time. The string materials we've got now are SO much better. It's no biggie any more. So, first order of business is to upgrade to modern string/cables. For that reason, I wouldn't spend much over $75 or so. Maybe $100 if it's got some good accessories with it.

The only thing you might find a little disappointing is the old Hoyt control cams don't make for as quiet a bow as most of todays cams do. I'd even go so far as to recommend shooting it with heftier aluminum arrows to keep the noise down some. But I guarantee ya, that bow will shoot. It'd make a great backup hunting bow, or one for hunting in foul weather when you don't want to get your main bow out.
