problem with stealth cam update

i had a problem with the plastic tabs that keep the unit closed. the tabs are a thin type of plastic and cracked off. stealth sent me a replacement cover no charge . it was a used and rusty one but i didnt care except it too also had a crack in the tab that was ready to fall off. i called them up to let them know it wont work for very long and they are sending another used one. i asked if the guy packing it would look at it at least before shipping. i also asked if the same type plastic locking tabs are used on there more expensive models and the man on the phone said yes. i just think its a bad design and hopefully they will catch on before it rubs people the wrong way. if i could figure a way to fix it and make it less prone to breaking i would because i love the camera and it doesnt get used but a couple times a year and its only a year old.the part that breaks off doesnt give you much room to work with. i might try to epoxy it or use a metal strap of some sort. any way treat your stealth cam locking tabs with care!

Liquidorange! I have the same problem with my cam that i just recieved 3 week's ago ,I took it out and strapped it to the treeand broke the buckle on the strap then on the very same setting I broke the tab off the back as well.It doesn't make me very happy that the case is so fragile but I think maybe I can fix up something to attach to the casing so that it doesn't happen again .Maybe it will be a winter project.i think maybe also I'll contact Stealth as well just to let them know what happened.

Nubo, I'd get on the horn with stealth cam as quickly as possible. The strap isn't a big deal but those tabs keep the unit water resistant. If the door were to open it would expose the inners to the elements and the results I fear wouldn't be pretty. With a brand new cam I'd demand more from stealth. From what I've seen they will stand behind their products.

if anyone knows a way to fix it for good let me know. i think there gonna get a bunch of these back and in a year or two they will probably get flooded. they obviously stand behind there product but i think they should be re-designing this part. luckily i have 2 of these cameras but i dont want to resort to the duct tape:D
