I know what the companies say, but I want to know the truth. Which bow is the fastset the LIBERTY or the OUTBACK???

IBO rated speed of the Outback is 308. IBO rated speed of the Liberty is 300-308. Not enough to make any difference. The Liberty is much more steady and smooth IMO. It also has a more forgiving valley.

On a side note, the Birth Certificate on my Liberty was 29", 71 lbs, 296 fps with the hush kit.

Honestly there will not be enough of a speed difference to even talk about.

Of course IMO you should get the Liberty. :D

The Outback is the faster of the two (not by much) and is a GREAT bow. DEFINETLY my choice of the two.:)

Shoot them both and make your decision on shootability not speed!

Does anybody believe the IBO speed ratings?

A buddy bought a bow that had an IBO of 308. When it was set up for his draw length - 26.5" with a peep, turned down to a little lighter draw weight and a 412 grain arrow, it only shot 220 fps. Still good enough to take a deer, but nothing like the advertised speeds.

The IBO ratings are fantesy. Don't judge one bow over another by a few fps. In real life most of us are lucky to get 75 - 85% of IBO.

I've shot both of them,no contest, the Outback is a much better bow.Starting with the fit and finish(camo),balance, smooth draw,BH,speed, and just an easy bow to shoot. No contest...Bob

Sounds like that bow performed just as advertised. I think many IBO speeds are pretty close to correct. The problem comes when someone doesn't realize what IBO means - and how "real world" setups will effect speed.

As to the Question...............Outback is faster by a smidge

AllenRead,

IBO is a 30" draw bow shooting a 350 grain arrow (5 grains per pound) at 70 lbs. Shooting a shorter draw length with a heavier arrow at less weight will make a huge difference in speed.
