What do you people think of the Carbon Bows made by High Country

They're light weight.

RE: Carbon Bows

I can't comment on the newer ones, since I haven't shot any of them. I did own a Carbon Force for about a month and sold it. I thought it was going to be a great bow, but this one in particular was not. First of all, it was supposed to be a #70 bow, and could only get to #61 on my scale, which has proven to be accurate enough when compared to other scales and other bows. IMO, the grip was too thick side to side. I was having torque issues, and thought I would remove the sideplates, since they really wouldn't be needed on a Carbon riser. I tried to remove the one sideplate, but it was glued to the riser. I chipped a small part of the sideplate trying to remove it. I finally gave up and glued the little piece back in place. The draw length (MX 1 cam) was close to 1" too long. I had a very difficult time tuning the bow due to the torque issues and the light weight. The bow was pretty quiet, but the recoil was more than I expected for a perimeter weighted one cam. The bottom line was that I could shoot my older 2-cam Darton with much greater consistency than I could shoot the Carbon Force. I have heard other people say that they were very pleased with theirs, but mine was a disappointment.:(

Hey Joe PA....out of curiosity, did you buy the bow at a place called Bow-For-It down past Quakertown?

Mr. Fritz:

I did not get the bow there. Mine was an ebay deal. The big positive is that I did not lose a significant amount of money on the deal.;) With better support from a qualified dealer, I'm sure the bow would have at least fit me better. Recoil still would have been there though.
