Default Mosquitos -vs- Thermocell

Anyone try one of those Thermocell units for mosquitos? Do they actually work?
Or are they just handy for scratching the hard to reach places in the middle of your back?

The best thing I have found to fight these buggers down south is to simply cover yourself head to toe. I usually where a light pair of pants an T shirt then slip my leafy where on top of that.

Yes - they do work well -- when there is no wind, or a slight breeze. When it's windy, you'd better cover up and leave it at home.

True !!

I was going to put that also......but with much of a wind...usually misquitoes aren't bad anyway !!

I guess a light wind is what you would watch out for !

BTW.....I'll be wearing my Bug Tamer jacket......thermocell or not !!

I used one in SC last Oct. I hunted in an Ameristep blind that was setup at least a month before I hunted it. When I slipped into the blind I discovered at least 1,000 mosquitoes. I fired up my ThermaCELL and they couldn't get out of there fast enough. ThemaCELL's definitely work.

They work fantastic. Best thing ive found to repel mosquitos and noseeums. No more bug spray.

BOWFANATIC--can you provide a link where I could read more on the Thermocell--sounds like something I would be interested in.
The 'black flies' and mosquitos are now out and they make my time in the turkey blind quite uncomfortable.

Would this also work for the 'black flies' or is it just a mosquito chaser?
Thanks.
