Just got my new outback into the archery shop and am going to put an Ultra drop away rest on it.Does any one use one or have any experience with these rest.I like how you can bring the rest up manually if you like,and also the top bar to keep your arrow enclosed http://www.qadinc.com/ultra-rest.htm

I like the design and it looks well made. I did contact the manufacture to see if they would be intrested in having it evaluated, but they did not respond. Like I said though It "looks" like a good rest, but only testing will prove it one wayor the other.

Starting to look like I'm the guinee pig.Like I said I am putting one on my new Outback.I'll post my results once I log some time with it.

this rest is not new, it has been out 2 years now.
other than that I have no comment on how it works.

Bigpapascout,rest is new for me didn't say it was a brand new product,but suprised there is so little feed back on it being that it's been around a bit.

Well finally got my Outback set up and shooting with the Ulta rest,so far so good it's awsome!Quiet,no noise at all and total clearance.Now only time will tell how durable it is but I can't forsee any potental problems.Bow and rest are both a pleasure to shoot:D

The Ultra rest actually came onto the market last yr. I wanted to try one out bad last summer. But even though it was being advertised by several dealers. The rest wasn't yet available by QAD. I contacted QAD on the rest, and asked them several questions. The rest was behind sch. due to a manufacturer flaw in the process. But they answered my questions, and seemed very helpful. The rest became available last fall, but by then I was into my hunting setup, and wasn't going to make any changes. I plan on getting one myself this spring. So DVD keep us updated, you do seem to be one of the first to give it a whirl here on the hunting.net!

Update....Have about 200 shots though it and so far no problems ,I love the way the rest works and it is very quiet as I stated before.I'll update again as I log more time with it.

Just reporting back,I love this rest!I strongly suggest if you are considering a drop a way style rest to give the Ultra serious consideration.I really can't beleive nobody else is using one yet!

Sounds like a cross between a Trap Door and all the other spring and strings. Wonder if 300+ fps might be a little too fast for this rest.

Just how would you evaluate? Got any high speed photography equipment?

Just curious on how fast your bow is shooting? Is the fletching clearing the top bar? It looks kind of like a TT shakey with a bar on top. Have you tried anything else from this company like their noc's or their dloop? Just wondering how customer service is. But I am a gadget man for sure and the rest looks like a good idea to me!

Yes it easily clears the top bar,actually its not really needed just a convenience if you still hunt or tip your bow upside down,I have total fletch clearance.I am shooting a Mathews Outback 28.5" draw length 80% let off,72lbs.string loop,carbon express cx 400 arrows 30" total arrow weight around 400gr.Have not chronographed speed but it is fast and quiet.Have not tried any of their other products just the rest,so far it has preformed flawlessly.

Interesting looking rest. I would like to try it out as well. I have not heard much about it either but it looks relatively well-made.

Rangeball,as per your request the Ultra was very easy to set up no problems just set for center and your ready to go,No clearance problems at all,this from Phil Race(Indian Mountain Archery) the archery pro who set it up and he has set up quit a few now and has had no trouble at all.
