Red Hawk:

Thank you. It appears you can relate; as I am sure that others here, can too. Takes much out of a person and forever changes things that once were good. These two brothers were my best hunting and fishing buddies for many years; not to mention the many telephone conversations we would have during a week. Big void.

My bow is adjustable up to 60lbs. I don't think it is reccommended to adjust more than 10lbs below the bow weight (60lb). I am 3lbs below that at present.

According to the Easton chart: My 2018 would be ok, if I was shooting 28in arrows, but I have a 28in draw length, so I shoot 29 in arrows. And at 29in the chart indicates I should be shooting something like 2117.

But as I am learning, maybe I am looking at it wrong. I do have a lot of arrows in the target at an angle.

Carbon arrows don't bend. They're either straight or shattered. I'm not too sure switching to carbon arrows will make your poor shooting ability horrible. They are faster and with that one cam bow I think you should be shooting carbons. Carbon arrows are refletchable, also. I fletch all of my arrows. Good Luck, it's up to you to pick. The one that you have the most confidence with is the one you should shoot.

Carbon arrows don't bend
Yes they do - even if you can buy them straight they will/can bend. Not into a crocked stick like an alum can - but they will and often bend to where they will affect broadhead flight.

At 47lbs I would recommend alum and a good 2 blade or 3 blade fixed head.

There seems to be good points to everybodys' opinion's, so i thought i would add mine, I shoot Easton A/c/c Arrows Alum. Carb. Comp. I dont know a lot of guys that shoot these arrows because they are a comp. arrow and are expensive, but i have had them for awhile now hung 4 on the wall by using the same six arrows, my practice and my hunt arrows being the same. They have gone through and come out perfect, wipe the blood off and use them again. Pretty sweet. I love them
