RE: Derringer dropaway rest
I can answer this one from my experience as well as some friends. A few yeras ago myself and 4 others each ordered the Derringers at the same time. Only one guy still has his and it is because he hasn't shot his bow in 2 years. I have shot and helped set up several styles of drop aways and in my opinion ( and my buddies) the Derringer was the worstone of all. We had all kind of problems with it. The magnet fell out of mine on the way back to my stand one day. I am so glad that I didn't have a nice buck around me or I would have been really upset. Two others lost their magnets also but they saw them fly out and were able to find them. Another bad problem we had was the rest dropping at the slightest bump of the bow. believe me we tried all kind of adjustments on sensitivity and it was still horrible. I can honestly say that with all the good quality drop aways on the market, you can use the money that you would spend on the Derringer and put it to better use on one of the others. I myself use the Muzzy Zero Effect and love it. But I am also impressed with others I have shot and helped guys set up including the Trophy Takers, Trophy ridge drop Zone, GK Mirage and the NAP Quicktunes. In my opinion, stay away from the Derringer.
