fixed blades for SPEED?

Any of you guys tried any fixed blades that wil fly well on a real SPEED bow? I'm currently shooting mechanicals on my hunting bow, but want to move to fixed blade. Problem is I have always heard they are almost impossible to tune at higher speeds unless you go to a small cutting diameter head.
My hunting set-up: Champion Yukon
84 #'s, 32" draw
307 ft/sec
carbon force 400's @ 29" shaft
currently 2 blade sonorans (100 grn)
total arrow weight 430 grns

Been looking at the slick tricks on the net here and they seem to be a decent head, heard lots of good feedback on them.

Any opinions?
Chris

RE: fixed blades for SPEED?

I SHOOT A HOYT CYBERTECH AT 70 LBS, AND SHOOT MUZZY'S 4 BLADE 100 GRAINS AT 280 FPS, WHICH WILL HIT IN THE SAME PLACE AS MY FIELDPOINTS, ALSO 3 BLADE 100 GRAIN THUNDERHEADS WILL SHOOT JUST AS WELL OUT OF MY SETUP, WHICH IS HOYT CYBERTECH 30 INCH DRAW AT 70 POUNDS WITH GOLDTIP XT 5575 ARROWS, BUT IT IS ALL IN A WELL TUNED BOW, I PAPER TUNE MINE EVERY YEAR TO GET IT WELL TUNED, AND DON'T BELIEVE WHAT YOU HEAR ABOUT HAVING TO SHOOT A HELICAL FLETCH FOR GOOD BROADHEAD FLIGHT, CAUSE I HAVE SHOT FIXED BLADES FOR YEARS AND HAVE ONLY EVER USED A STRAIGHT FLETCH, HOPE THIS HELPS
GOOD LUCK.

It is not impossible and if your set-up is correct, it is down right easy! I shoot fixed blades only! I use the Montec G5, 100 grain, with my Mathews LX, 68 lbs, 30 inch, 29 inch arrow @ 289 fps. I can screw on a broadhead or a field point and group without touching my sights.

I shoot an 03 Ultra-Tec 80lbs ACC-60s 445grns at 310fps and shoot 3 blade Montec 125 grn. I just love the way these broadheads fly.

I am currently using 2 blade sonorans (100 grn) too. I just wondered why your switching. I am going with the Montec G5, 100 grain. I always thought it would be hard to tune fixed blades too. well the Montec G5, 100 grain is what I'm going with.

I was going to switch back to fix blades also until i saw some new machanical blades. like scorpion.and others are brands that are making cut on contact.a fixed blade to start then turns into a machanical two blade.but if your still going to go back to fixed blades.muzzy and thunderhead. make some of the best fast bow broadheads around!

These are some heads that I have tested that have shown to shoot most like field points under most conditions.
1. wasp boss bullet
2. Rocky Ironhead 100 grn
3. Rocky tradition
4. Slick trick
5. Rocky premier 75 grn
other heads such as Muzzys 100 grn and Magnus stingers have proven very accurate as well but those listed have done well in my tests and have prove very accurate.
