scott release
I'm looking at buying a new release and need some advice. I am retiring a scott caliper release after 10 plus years of use. I can replace the wrist band on it and probally get another 10 plus years out of it but I want to try something new. Has anyone used the scott deluxe series or the mongoose and how do they perform. Any and all help is welcomed.

RE: scott release
I have two Mongoose styles and love them. That said if I were to replace them I would go to the "little goose" same basic stlyle just smaller and more compact. Great products and they work well.

I have two "little goose" and they work great. Like how compact they are. Have used them for 5 years without any problems.

RE: scott release
Like you, I have used a little goose for years and changed to the Mongoose (3001S-NCS)-- hook/loop NCS (nylon connector system) a few months ago.
Compared to the NCS with the velcro, the buckle strap is much quieter, the velcro on the other hand can adjust easier with or without gloves--compared to finding the closest hole on the buckle, this said, I still prefer the silence of the buckle. Also the NCS allows the caliper to fall away from the palm of the hand, so contact with the climbing stick (ting, cling) is now a thing of the past. JMO. |
RE: scott release
I use the scott little goose and wont shoot anything else. They also make a little bitty goose. A friend of mine shoots one and swears by it.

RE: scott release
I HAD a Little Bitty Goose (it was in my truck that was stolen 2 weeks ago). Once I deal with getting a new vehicle, I'll be getting another one. Best release I've ever used.

RE: scott release
I hunted with a Fletchunter for about 15 years. I thought it was the best on the market. When I bought a new bow 5 years ago, on the advice of the shop owner, I switched to a Scott "Little Goose". Best advice and best move I've ever made. I love my Scott!!!

RE: scott release
I started using the NCS series Little Bitty Goose last spring and I absolutely love it. I have smaller hands ( all my size went somewhere else :D, sorry about that, had too much coffee this morning I guess) so this release fits perfectly in my hand. I can't say enough about the NCS connection system. I stood in the Cabelas Dundee store trying to decide between the Little Bitty Goose and the Little Goose. I am glad that I went with the one I did. I have a few friends that also shoot Scott releases and they have been happy with them for years. I believe that anyone you buy will give you a great high quality release.

RE: scott release
For those of you using the NCS, do you prefer this over the rope on the standard release?
One one hand, it seems like it would be easier to adjust than untying/retying the rope but on the other it looks like the strap would tend to slip over time and that you would have to continuously adjust it. |
