Bow Tech Pro 40?
 

Finally got the nerve to go to the local Bow Tech dealer and look at their line. I've posted before looking for a medium priced range bow with at least a 32" draw. The Pro 40 may still be out of my price range, but man was that one sweet pulling bow. The salesman told me with my draw and shooting 450 gr arrows I should be shooting about 260 fps at 70lbs. Does that sound right? The brace height of 8 1/4" seems that it would be a little slower to me.

Any comments on this bow? I'm sure it is not their top of the line, but I believe I need at least a bow that has a 37" ata.

YES, that does sound slow.With a 32 inch draw you should have big advantage in power stroke alone.I shoot a vft extreme with a 28 inch draw at 60lbs. with a 360gr. acc at 285.A pro 40 shold be able to come in at 280+ I would think.:D Dan

I have been shooting a Pro 40 for about 10 months now. Mine shoots great. I shoot 29 inch 60 lb. with 350 grain arrow I am shooting 290 fps.

I have to agree. I shoot a pro 38, 31" draw at 65 lbs and shoot 297 fps. You should be over 300 with that draw length and poundage.

OH! and to answer your second question BowTech ROCKS!!! You'll love the bow no matter how fast it shoots. Mine is smooth drawing, super fast, quiet and accurate. Good Luck.

I take it the one you shot had the Freedom cam.

According to the specs it has an IBO rating of 292 to 300.

So with your specs, arrow weight plus what ever else you have on the string the Pro Shop is probably right on the money.

We have to be careful when we say Pro 40 as there are three different cam options available that differ quite a bit in performance. You must specify Pro 40 Freedom Cam, Dually, or Wheely.
