Scent lock clothing
I am new to bowhunting I guess. I hunted elk with a bow about 17 yrs ago. I've rifle hunted ever since and I'm going back to archery full time now. I did hunt antelope last year and missed a nice buck because I didn't judge the yardage right [:@]. So my real question is, is Scent lock clothing really neccessary for antalope and elk? I'd really appreciate your opinions. Thanks in advance.

RE: Scent lock clothing
I believe any scent eliminator is worth it. This year especially, I have gone to all ends to stay scent free. I have not been busted at all this year.
I have Scent Blocker Plus clothing, use scent killer spray (just bought scent blocker Carbon spray today, not sure yet), and use odor free shampoos, soaps, detergents, and deodorants. I also bought a pair of Rocky Buckstalker rubber boots. Some may think I'm nuts and go overboard, but I trully feel it works. Have not been busted at all this year. If an elk's and antelope's noises are anything like a whitetail's (I'm sure they are) I think it is worthwhile to invest in some scent elimination clothing wether it is scent lok, scent blocker, Gore-Tex, etc. |
