Arrow weight/Arrow speed

I'm thinking of increasing my arrow weight from 383grains to 431 grains with heads. I shoot a Diamond Outlaw @ 65 lbs DW (max DW is 70lbs) and have a 27.5 DL with release. Should I increase my poundage to get more speed? I've only been bowhunting for 2 years and a lot of people on this forum have steered me in right direction, thanks to all for helping me.

Thanks
Croc

Speed doesn't kill deer, accuracy does. Your arrow weight is fine for 65 or 70 lbs, so that isn't an issue, no need to increase it unless you think a heavier arrow will shoot better.

Can you draw and accurately shoot at 70 lbs? Can you draw and accurately shoot at 70 lbs in 20 degrees weather after sitting in a stand for 4 hours?

I can draw 70 lbs, but my bow is 62 lbs.

Not sure if this still holds true with today's bows but the rule of thumb used to be that you would lose 1 fps for each 5 gr of arrow weight increase. So you're going up 50 gr would mean you would shoot about 10 fps slower. Not much difference in my opinion. If your current set up is shooting fine for you that's great. But a plus to a heavier arrow is more KE and usually a quieter bow.
Don't get hyped up on the speed thing. Us old guys killed millions of deer using longbows and recurves the rarely exceeded 180 fps. Just put that broadhead where it needs to be and you will have your animal.

Ohionovice I was thinking the same thing and that's why I am shooting at 65lbs dw. Bronko 22000 thanks also responding and yes I do like the fact that it made it a little quieter and more KE.
