Help with Alpha Burly' s!!

I received a pair of Lacrosse Alpha Burly' s for my birthday and they smell like burnt rubber.[X(]
How can I get the " scent free" boots to smell scent free???

RE: Help with Alpha Burly' s!!

I recently asked a similar question on the bowhunting board. I was told that the rubber smell really never goes away, but that the smell doesn' t leave a trail when walking and the rubber doesn' t pick up other smells like other materials do. I got about 5 or 6 responses from guys telling me that they have used rubber boots for years and they love them. They said they' ve never had a deer spook from their rubber boots, but the smell never really goes away.

I wear rubber boots but I also spray some pine cover scent on them. New rubber boots tend to have a stronger rubber smell to them at first but I have never noticed that to be a problem. Deer do smell the rubber but it has never alerted them from what Ive seen . Deer dont seem to get alarmed at all by the rubber.
If I were you I would wash the new boots thoroughly in a scent free detergent and just keep them clean from then on. Using a cover scent like pine or acorn wouldnt hurt either.
