Vanes, Feathers or FOBs and why?

We have went from 4" plastic vanes to 2" feathers and recently switched to the FOB (Fletchings Only Better). We would like to know what you shoot and why? Let us know!

I shoot and have shot both vanes and feathers on different set-ups. With a little tuning tweak here or there, they will both perform well and they will both have their drawbacks.

In my area, the only problem I have is availability of good feathers, due to the popularity of carbon shafts and those itty-bitty vanes. Not putting them down, just haven't quite gotten used to them.

i have shot both standard vanes and feathers and now blazer vanes i would say that the feathers are more forgiving if your bow is out of tune . but feathers in wet weather can pose a problem also are more prone to damage so i have been using blazers for a couple of years and love the way they fly wet or dry .

I have FOBs and really enjoy them. Less cross-sectional area to get caught in a crosswind (which we have plenty of here in KS), rigid to get broadheads spinning sooner, and "fletching" bare shafts takes seconds per arrow.

We recently adjusted the draw length on one of our ProStaffer's bow and had to resight all his pins. He has 20 yard to 60 yard pins. During the 50 and 60 sight in session, he had an 11mph crosswind. Shooting the FOBs allowed him to sight the pins accurately. It was double checked the following day with ZERO wind and they were dead on. This is what made us a believer. The only issue is the FOBs is Lumenoks do not fire when using them and you can't shoot tight groups (you break them off). So, we are working on Fire Nocks as a sponsor and should be fine. We love the FOBs.
