I use Nikon' s

If you are on a budget take a look at thier Action series. They are a little bulkier but have good optics. They also have an awsome no fault warranty.

I know these probably cost more than you want to spend right now but I use Pentax PCF 10x50 binocs for turkey and deer hunting. They are a little on the bulky side but the view they produce is worth it. When stand hunting for deer, I just hang them on a hanger on the tree beside me, and for turkey hunting or if a lot of walking is anticipated, I use them with Crooked Horn Outfitters Slide ' n Flex Bino straps. These are superb binoculars for the price. www.riflescopes.com has them for $183.95. They would make a great early Xmas present!;)

RE: Binoculars

I have a pair of Minolta 8X22 compacts that weren' t cheap. Granted they won' t allow me to count antler points at 500 yards but they work great in our timbered forests. I have never regretted the purchase and I have never needed to get more out of them than they were capable of.

I don' t need to glass across canyons hundreds of yards away.

I would love a pair of Swarovskis but they are just too expensive for my budget so I have to be satisfied with what I have and make do.
