I would look into some good used bows. You can get very good deals on lightly used gear. You will most likely find better equipment that way. Good luck

How would a good recurve bow in about the #45-#50 range compare in killing power to a comparable compound? Like I said, I have a hard time holding a bow back for too long a time anyhow.

For a person new to bow hunting that has never purchased a bow going the used rout more often than not ends in their disappointment and them spending more money than they thought they would. I see it all too often.

the bear charge set up is 400$, comes with whisker biscuit, trophy ridge site and 6 arrow quiver. 50-70 lb and i think 80% let off. Very forgiving with a brace hieght of 7 and a quarter i think.

If you have a Dicks Sporting Goods nearby, go check out the Bone Hunter package. Based on a Martin Cheetah bow. I bought one and am very happy with it. $399.00. Fast quiet and a good brand name of bow, comes with a 360 capture rest a decent 3 pin sight and quiver.

Once you find a bow you like check out www.huntersfriend.com they have a wide variety of bow packages to choose from. Customer service is pretty good as well.

I would go with the Diamond Razor edge... after extensive research I bought the PSE Chaos for $399 last year but the draw length for you is too short (27") The diamond was my second choice with hundreds of good reviews and has a draw length up to 29"... plus it's a little cheaper. $329 I think...and comes with a 75% left-off and over 300 fps. It also gives you room to grow if you work up the muscles in your shoulder... 30-60lbs draw weight.
My advice is to go to a bow shop and actually hold the bows you're considering b/c everyone's preference is different! The Diamond just happens to fit all your criteria and has great ratings :) |
it wasnt a package bow but it was a 2009 bare bow that was never used came in sealed box bow was srill in the plastic wrapping...Quest33 $279 off of ebay
