I have been bow hunting for years and have always used the prong type rests. I was looking to go with a bisquit type as a change, but i believe i've changed my mind to go with a drop away. What good, solid dropaway would you recommend? I really believe I want a rest that completely holds the arrow. Qad ultra seems well reviewed?? Thoughts please...THANKS!

Do yourself a favor and get a Limbdriver. Probably the easiest fall away to set up and it performs flawlessly. And if you want it to compleatly hold the arrow get the capture arm with it. Trust me, buy one now and thank me later.

I have had great results with the QAD Ultra rest. I have shot several different dropaways over the last few years and like the QAD best.

I went from a Trophy Ridge Drop Zone (loved it, BTW) to a QAD Ultra Rest HD. The QAD is simply amazing! IMO, you can't go wrong with either one.

I use a RipCord Code Red...a little on the pricey side but it is easy to set up and works flawlessly...a buddy of mine uses an Apache and loves it, which is about half the price.

The Scissors looks like a good rest. But I personally prefer the NAP Apache drop away. Its rock solid and easy to adjust and deadly quiet. And for the $, around $60 its pretty hard to beat.

QAD'S and ripcords and good stuff

I have an older Ripcord and found that I could not use it on two of my bows (Martin Cheetah and Firecat). I suspect it was too slow and I was getting fletching contact, A call to Ripcord pretty much confirmed that. They told me to send it in and have it looked at. I put it on a slower bow and it works fine.
As for the QAD I am not sure. What kind of adjustment does this rest have? The NAP Apache has toolless adjustment both vertically and horizontally and the entire unit sets behind the riser rather than over it. This gives you the ability to shoot a shorter arrow.
