What Backpack?
I know Badlands seems to be the nutz, but should a backpack cost twohundo? other choices but still waterproof and quiet?

I have a badlands and two cabelas packs. One is the scout, the other is a basic whitetail pack. All three are very good. The badlands is by far the highest quality but for day in day out use either of the cablelas packs are great choices. None are waterproof, but the badlands comes closest.

Depends on what you are using it for i guess. I mean a badlands is great, quiet, and waterproof, and will last you a long time. But if your just walking across some field and sitting down you can get away with the run of the mill walmart backpack too. But now lets say your elk hunting on top of a mountian and packing everything in and out(if you get one) then i would say buy a Mystery Ranch-Best Pacs on the Planet, not an opinion, thats fact. lol

I am a believer in cry once and do it right.
Yes Badlands are pricey but they are good, very good I have the OX and the Superday. I will never have to buy another pack as long as I live |
yep i use a cheap pack made by Remington. just enough so i can get my essentials in and out of the woods. it works for me!

Check out Rancho Safari, they have lots of options and usually will customize them if you ask them to add a pocket here or there! The aren't the cheapest either though....

I use a Badlands 2200 for elk hunting, I have a cheap pack for my shoot em close to the truck (deer/antelope) hunts.

Primos makes a hunters day pack which looks like it would work very well. At least for $22.99 it's not that bad.
