Fletchings
I'm looking for a little advice on fletchings. Right now i shoot a 4 vane with a twist in it. I just want to get everyone's opinion on what they shoot and why. I am no 100% confident in the 4 vanes. Thanks for the help

RE: Fletchings
You will find that alot of people like Blazers can't go wrong with them. If you want to go to a shorter style check out AAE Max hunters 3 vane. They are alittle longer but just as tall with a slight advantage in surface area to help with stability but still compact. They are very rigid and fly very well when paper tuning.

RE: Fletchings
feather fletchings is the way to go

RE: Fletchings
I like 4'' helical feathers.

RE: Fletchings
Three or four inch feathers helical fletched.
I have tried nearly all of the vanes out there and nothing works as good as a feather. And no a little water is not going to effect the flight what so ever. |
RE: Fletchings
I vote for feathers/helical.Size depends on arrow material.
Carbon-3- 4 1/2" Aluminum-3- 5" Wood-3- 5 1/2" to 6" depending on species. My favorite feathers and good info- http://www.trueflightfeathers.com/guide.htm |
RE: Fletchings
I shoot 3" quickspins that areglued with a 2 degree offset.

RE: Fletchings
2" Quickspins. I shoot tighter groups with them than any other vane I have tried.

RE: Fletchings
Are you shooting a dropaway rest or containment/prong type? If your shooting a dropaway give FOBs a look. http://www.starrflight.com I have three packs i haven't been able to try yet. Have to get my dropaway put back on. The people that use them LOVE them.
Just another idea. |
