Elite Archery is on the move

Been shooting Elite bows in tournament and hunting. Currently shooting the GT500. Bow is amazing. Been shooting archery for 25yrs and this bow is fast and accurate. 61lbs 390grn arrow at 28 1/2" draw is shooting 280fps. Elite now has new owners and you can look for this manufactuer to go straight to the top. If you get the chance just shoot one and see for yourself. You can see all the Elite bows at http://www.elitearchery.com/ea_bows.php

XLR Elite bow is one sweet shooter as well. David Lay here in the picture has made the top ten in both Florida and Hattiesburg, Ms ASA Pro Ams. He made his first shoot down in Hattiesburg in Senior Pros. This bow brought this average amatuer into the pro ranks quickly. Watch how rock solid this bow holds and balances. Just go shoot one and see for your self. You can see all the bows at http://www.elitearchery.com/ea_bows.php The Z28 may be the best hunting bow on the market today,

These bows are accurate and fast. I shoot senior pro and shoot Elite bows because they are that good. Made this shot on the 14 ring at 37yrds last Sunday in a shoot off. Go check out the Elite bows and see if they may help your score or taking that next harvest.

I think elite is junk. they feel like they weight to much when u pull it back.

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

Thats very surprising to hear. I was at the ATA show and we had many shooting the bows(Thousands) there and everyone really seemed to like the draw force curve on these bows. I switched from Mathews to Elite because of bad shoulders. I find them very easy to draw and can use low poundage. I have also been able to let many good pros try this bow and all of them were certianly not saying anything about a harsh draw. Mine are 2008 GTO and 2009 XLR and GT500. I know there diffiantly not harsh because thats one thing I dont want with my bad shoulders from 20 something years of weightlifting.

One must find what works for them!

I hunted OHIO this year with some guys from there. After they shot my Elite. They went and bought one. They simple love the bows.

I'm in the Rochester, NY area (Elite is located near Rochester as of late). Our local shop just got some in. They look decent. One of the guys at the shop said that the people that work there had recently switched over to Elite. I'll have to test one out at some point.

You should give them a try. There great bows and the new owner and his staff are right there in your back yard. Peter Crawford is the new owner.
Down to earth good guy that loves what he doing. He is committed to building the best bow on the market. His staff are devoted as well.
Let us know what you think.

I have not got to try the new 08. I only got to try a 06 my buddy had. It gelt like a 80 pound pull, and it was 70.

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

Understand any bow can be untuned properly. Even my 09 bow if the draw stops are not tuned properly I can have 50% let off on the bow.
Thats typical of Binary Cam. My thoughts are the bow you drew was not properly tuned. Hope you get a chance to shoot a well tuned Elite. I think you will see a big difference. Recently Kevin the designer redesigned the Z28 cam and made it smoother than ever for hunters need. Now he gave up 5fps in spedd but its Elite commitment to meet the desire of hunters.

Are any of there bows 500.00 or less? alot of people will not pay 800.00-900.00 for a bow anymore me included. Didn'nt thing so.
Truth is if I was looking to get a new bow[ which I'm not] it would be a pse bow maddness, matthews mission, ross carnivore
all are nice bows at a decent price.:)

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

Elite makes some excellent bows. I would rate them up there with the big 4 pse, hoyt, mathews, bowtech. I personally have shot them, and they are top notch. I now shoot an apa black mamba xl,and absolutely love it, but if i had some extra cash i would also be shooting an elite gt 500.

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

I certianly understand your point. But there not out of line with other top bows made today. You get what you pay for. You want qaulity you must pay the price. Elite has Barnsdale limbs. Just look at the finish on the risors and you wont find scratchs on my bow and Im rough with them.

There used bows sale and hold there resale.

One must find what works for them!

I can spend $600.00 going to one tournament shooting pro class.($250.00 entry fee) I want the best bow in my hands I can shoot.

The shop I go to is getting some Elites in next month and I really want to try them. I have heard nothing but good things about them. My brother has a Synergy and it is a nice drawing bow for 70lbs (I only shoot 60). I don't see one replacing my Guardian though.

Z28 is quite the bow. Kevin redesigned the cam for the hunter. Smoother draw and easier to let down. You lose 5fps but for the hunter often letting down is very inportant. Everyone should go shoot one of these bows. Just see what there all about.

You can find a good used one for under $500.00. Garantee you wont be dissapointed. I have turned several on to these bows and they bought used ones and everyone says its the best bow they have ever shot. Got to find what makes you happy.

ASA Pro am, Paris Texas shoot.

I took 12th in Mens Senior pro with three fives for the weekend from judging[:@]
Shot great and bow performed well. Just cant say how much this bow has helped me be the better archer. I hit all three 14 rings on Sunday for a 2 up score which I was told was second best score for the day.

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

How do the Elite bows hold at full draw? Currently I have a Bowtech Captain that is GREAT to aim. I absolutely love. On the other hand, I have never had a 'speed' bow and would kind of like to try one, but I don't want to give up the stability of my Captain at full draw.....

OklaBowhunter 04-26-2009 01:05 PM

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

Cuda cams feel just like the Tribute from Bowtech. Hard wall very fast cam.

Rev Cam is a little smoother with good back wall.

If you liked the earlier Bowtechs, Kevin designed for them. You will love these bows.

I truly think the GT500 is one awesome bow.

RE: Elite Archery is on the move

The Captain is the only Bowtech I have ever owned. Well, other than the Black Ice I had last year. Which, by the way, wasn't as stable as the Captain.... Prior the that, all I have shot for 20 years or so were Hoyt bows. I wonder if the 34" ata of the Captain contributes to its stability? Anyway, I may have to give the GT500 a whirl, assuming I can find one in a left handed model!

About 5 or 6 weeks ago, I shot the Z28 and the GT500 - after shooting most of the "new for '09" bows over the course of the winter.

The only thing I did not like about the Elites was --- they aren't free.

Only downside I see with them (Other than not being free as Bruce mentioned ) is that there is a good percentage (and I don't mean a majority) of people who cannot get them, even with supetuning, to shoot the speeds they are supposed to be shooting. My GT500 was a very quick bow considering , but fell quite a bit short of where it should be speed-wise. My tech and I spent hours (together, and separately) trying to get it supertuned", even with custom string/cables, all to no avail. It was EXTREMELY frustrating and my dealer/friend was ready to bust me upside the head with the bow if I brought it in one more time to tinker with it

Having talked with my local Elite dealer/friend at length about them, In the shop's experience it's simply that some Elite's "have it" and some don't. The Tech's personal 27" GTO shoots 316 FPS with a loop, brass nock, kisser, and peep- which is 4 FPS faster than the best speed I could get out my GT500 at 28.5" with just a loop and peep They had one GTO that would shoot 358 at 30/70 IBO, but most ran in the mid 330s set up correctly (peak draw hitting at approx 6" intro draw cycle, and cams synched).

To add insult to injury, My AM35 was several FPS faster than my GT-500 apples. [:'(]

So my advice, is definitely BUY ONE- they are fantastic bows, hold like a rock, built like a tank, and shoot like a dream-They have a bunch of good folks runnning the company, and they are going places (albeit with some growing pains currently)! But don't go in with your expectations too high about the speed- that way if you get one that "has it", you'll really be excited. Next spring, I will be looking for a new bow (wedding present from the wife-to-be) and despite the issue I had with my GT-500, Elite will still be at the top of my list of bows to check out.

Wow, a very precise, well thought out direct answer to the question. THANK YOU
I will try them out next time I’m at the shop.

Your not giving yourself enough credit. The bow doesn't make the shooter. Tiger Woods could whoop me at golf even if he was using a switch from the willow tree my mom used to spank me with. Keep practicing and we'll see your name in magazines soon!!

Everyone once in awhile finds a bow that come along that can improve your scores. One that you know fits your shooting type. Tiger cannot win without good equi[pment.
Just like I tell everyone to find the bow that feels best to them in your hand.

I'm not knocking your equipment at all! You do need to find the bow that fits you best. This allow you to fully use the talents you strive to perfect.

Like i said above, Tiger could beat all us on here with a bent wilson from walmart. I have a full set of top o'line nike clubs and i still suck......don't get much practice either.

Point is the bow still doesn't make the shooter. A bow that feels best to the shooter shows everyone else what said shooter is capable of.

I'm just saying you should pat yourself on your back, thats all. Not that you shouldn't praise your equipment but you deserve the majority of that praise.

Shot straight and keep'em in the ten..........err forteen ring now, i guess.
