Bowtech SWAT, first impression

I bought a Bowtech SWAT yesterday.
The birth certificaterating was a350 grain arrow @ 313 fps set on 29'' draw, pulling 71 LB. I think, "Hey, this bow is performing at the top of the speed range, because IBO rating is for 30'' draw which would add about 10 fps, ie... 323 fps".
Nice to know, but I did not buy it for the speed ;). I wanted a back wall like a rock, no give whatsoever, and the draw stop that contacts the limb delivers. I'm sold and so is the bow.

When I get the bow home, I measure the ATA comparing one side of the bow to the other, exactly the same. Timing on the cams is also the same. String servings are tight.:)

I install a sight and a Dropzone rest. I'm pulling about 68# (according to my scale), plenty for someone who is accustomed to 60 LB bows. I eyeball the rest and nock, setting them to what I consider to be the optimum position.

Selecting my arrow of choice: Beman ICS Hunter, 125 tip, wrap, Blazers, I proceed to check paper tune. First shot through paper is a perfect bullet tear!!! For a chronic paper tuner :eek:this is a fine hello.:D

Next, the chrono: I did not buy the bow for speed, but.... I'm at least hoping for 4 more LB KE than the draw weight..... average for 5 shots pulling 68# on 29'' draw with a 430 grain arrow..... 278 fps!

Oh yea, that's 6 more LB KE than the draw weight with a 7'' brace and a rock solid back wall [8D]

First impression, I like it!

Who recently accused me of being a "salesman" for another bow? [:'(]

Glad it filled the Bill for you! I drew a Swat back although I didn't shoot it. It drew very nice.

After an additional shooting session with the SWAT I ordered another one.

I also ended up switching to a lighter arrow. I'mpulling 67# on 29'' draw using a 360 grain arrow I averaged 301 FPS.
