Default Hoyt catalog

So nobody else has this problem, Hoyt' s catalog is incorrect. I attempted to order through my pro shop an Ultratec with spiral cams at 32" draw. The catalog clearly states that this setup is available with the 2000 series limbs. NOT! Hoyt told my pro shop they will only make the Ultratec with 2000 limbs and spiral cam to 31" + 1/2. The catalog is not correct. Hoyt did say that for an extra $75.00 they would make the Ultratec in spiral cam with the 3000 series limbs in 32" draw. I don' t know how this set up would be so if anyone has some input, please let me know.
Thanks,
bmott

What about it are you unsure of? The axle to axle length should be listed on the website. The brace height you probably will not know until they actually put it together though I would be willing to bet that you are looking at something at least a half inch shorter than the advertised specs for the Ultratec with the standard Cam and a half. The speed will probably be around 8-9 fps faster than the standard Cam and a Half IBO rating because of the shorter brace height/longer power stroke and the because of the draw force curve of the cam itself. That would give you a bow with specs something like...

40.5 inch axle to axle length
7 inch brace height
305-307 IBO speed

Again that is just a guess. As for the overall shooting characteristics of the bow itself....it should be relatively forgiving with such a large axle to axle length though the brace height is in the mid range and draw cycle is relatively stiff.

Hope this helps some.

Default RE: Hoyt catalog

I had my Pro shop call Hoyt back again and decided to order the Protec with the Spiral Cam1/2 at 80lbs. and 32" drawlength. Has anyone had a chance to shoot a simular setup?
Thanks for the replies,
Bmott

I think you will be happier with that much draw length with the Protec.

I really don' t understand why you would go with the spiral with a draw length like that but to each their own.
