Its Me...Yet Again

okay,so i went out today and went to 3 different archery shops...shot a bunch of different bows and might have narrowed my search down a little bit. Here is what i shot and thought about it.

1) Bear Truth 2 - Shoot smooth enough.slight amound of hand shock.decent enough speed at 70lbs with a 30" draw.the only thing that concerned me was the arched string supressors.they seemed to actually push the string out so it wasnt in a very good line verticaly.i cant imagine thats a good thing.

2) 2009 Mathews Reezen 6.5 - slight to no hand shock,fast bow,decently quiet

3) 2008 Mathews Drenalin,DXT,and LD - all shot very similar...i thought i was going to like the longer ata because ive been told they are more forgiving but,i guess i just didnt notice it.

4) 2009 Bowtech Captain - I felt what seemed like ZERO hand shock,no left or right kick out, nice forward motion, extremely silent shooting bow and very nice speeds.until this bow i have never found a bowtech i liked.

out of all the bows i shot this is the order i liked them in...
#1- Bowtech Captain
#2- Drenalin,DXT and Truth 2 all ties for number 2 spot
#3- Drenalin LD

within a 15 minutes drive I have two shops to choose from.between the two shops they carry:

shop a- bowtech,darton,bear and diamond
shop b- darton,mathews,pse,parker,mission,and bear

are there any other bows i should be looking into by those companies?

if this helps in picking a certain bow i should try i shoot generally a 29.5-30.5 DL and a 70lb max DW

What are everyone elses opinions on what i shot if they have shot them also or not?

I really liked the Bowtech Captain ,but I have almost always given by business to shop b mentioned above...id almost feel unloyal going to a different shop and giving someone else my business.the guy at the shop i usually go to has always been very informative, helpful and just plain friendly.

I just really need a new bow...what i am shooting now just doesnt feel right in my hands personally.

nothing wrong with buying a bow that your favorite shop doesnt carry. If the bow feel right buy it , if its your favorite then shoot it. If I buy a bow from another shop that is not my local shop I always buy my accessories from the local shop I go too, both guys get the business and they are happy and you are happy cause you got your favorite bow.
Maybe buying the bowtech from the other shop might convince your local shop to carry that brand so they get the business in the future.:Dhappy shooting

I personally love the captain and it sounds like you do too. It is a great feeling bow and is plenty fast and super quiet. it also has adjustable DL which is a nice feature. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a bow from a different shop. especially since its one that they dont carry. the worst thing you could get out of it is the discussion about why you didnt buy one of his bows, and your answer would easily be "you dont carry the captain, so i had to get it from somewhere else."
derek

well,i have a guy coming to look at my hoyt in a couple hours.if it sells i will have to make a decision as to what i am getting.i have it fully narrowed down to:

2009 Mathews Reezen 6.5"
or
2008 Mathews Drenalin,or DXT

I am however leaning towards the Drenalin or DXT because i dont want to sit around for 6 weeks til the Reezen arrives with no bow to shoot.

Besides the Reezen having slightly more parralell limbs,a slightly lower brace height and shooting roughly 10-18fps faster(depending on arrow and draw weight) what if any are the major differences between the dxt and drenalin compared to the reezen?

i have shot all 3 and havent noticed a huge difference.

I had also considered the drenalin ld because its a little more forgiving but,i am 6ft3 and will be shooting out of a ground blind.even if i shoot from ym knees do you think the bow will clear the top of the ground blind?and then once i do start using a tree stand will it be too long and hit branches all over the place.

what im really looking for out of a bow is something with minimal hand shock, decent speed,a 29.5 draw length with a peak of 70lbs draw weight.id also like something easy to hunt with and manuver in a shooting situation in the woods.
