Carbon Revolution Arrows
 

I have to say that I am very impressed with the 5.5gpi carbon revolution arrows. I am shooting a Bear Truth at a 28" draw @ 59lb and I am getting 302 FPS. I know I am at 4g per pound on the bow and they suggest 5 for a minimum. Kinetic Energy is not a problem! Last weekend I shot a nice 6 point it glanced of the top back tip of his front left sholder and busted his back right knee on the exit. He went about 50 yards then just fell over.

Has anyone else tried these?

Also I am waiting to get My HIgh Country Archery 2009 Speed pro bow I should be around 360 - 370 FPS at 28" draw @70lbs

Playing with 4 grains per pound of draw weight is asking for it - particularly in terms of the bow's warranty. You are also inviting trouble in the form of arrow penetration problems. The bow is louder with the lite arrows, and the benefits of trajectory are really not very significant out to 40 yards. I might consider them for antelope hunting, but otherwise I would stay with arrows at least 25% heavier.

Well as far as my trajectory goes I am Flat to 30yards and about 16" of drop to 50yards. As far as energy goes I am getting 48 lbs of kinetic energy. I wouldn't hunt anything larger than a deer with it. But the High Country Bows are warrentied down to 3 grains per pound and the kinetic energy out of that will be around 72 lbs

Warranty or no, the super light arrows are problematic with even deer sized game. I know it looks good on paper, but when you weigh the down sides of very light arrows - it's not worth it IMO. Similar issue to hunting deer with a .220 Swift.
