These are, without a doubt, a great broadhead. Possibly the toughest one ever built. They also fly extremely well at long range and don't require a very high poundage bow to get adequate penetration. You could buy two or three packs of these, and get them to last you the rest of your life.

yeah they do some damage. Every year i try and convince myself to switch tomechanicals but i never do because the montecs have blown through everything i've ever shot. Whether i hit exactly where i wanted to or not

I love them, but what do ya'll do to get them sharp. I bought the diamond stone from G5 but they still don't seem to get that sharp. Any tricks out there from some montec users

Due to the 60 degree angle of the setup, you are never going to get these to feel as sharp as a G5 Striker. They will, nonetheless, cut and penetrate well. I have had pretty good luck finishing up the process with a leather strop.

The easiest way I have found to get them sharp is using the diamond stone. Make sure you use plenty of water and start off with the course side doing several passes evenly on each side with a fair amount of downward pressure. Then repeat with light pressure. After than flip the stone over to the fine side and do the same thing your last pass should be very light pressure and they will get sharp enought to shave hair with. Like mentioned before I dont think you will ever get them as sharp as the stiker, but the blades on the montec are much thicher and will out last a striker hands down. I shot a doe the night before last with my montecs and she went all of about 60 yards.

Ha ha, I guess I should rephrase that. I shot a doe during legal shooting hours last saturday evening.

Best kept secret in bowhunting...although I doubt they are that big of a secret anymore.

After seeing those photos I went to Gander and bought a pack. I had been using grim reapers but I was not happy with the blood trails. I hope these are as good as they look
