Primos Scarface decoy vs Buck Wing Bobbin head
Buckwing Bobbin Head
I bought a Buckwing Bobbin head Decoy last season. While it is very lifelike and the motion is a great confidence feature on the deer, it is VERY flimsy. It isnoisy to handle and makes noise when the head moves. The leg attachment points are so flimsy and the ground stakes attach is a very complicated way that even when using the utmost care, it's very easy to have the whole thingpo noisily apart when you try to set it up. Whats truly insulting is the overall quality when you consider the price $199. I'd have been pissed at the quality if I'd spent only half that much. This thing is really cheesy. I have done my own modifications and made it work by creating my own support stakes and using stick on foam at strategic spots inside to quiet the noises it used to make.
Primos Scarface
The other day, I stopped by my local archery shop and saw the Primos Scarface decoy set up. Primos has designed Scarface with all the problems of Bobbin head fixed. The soft body is quiet, the leg system really works great, The head moves as well as Bobbin head but is much better built and the tail is more realistic. The best part is that it costs less ($139). I went ahead and bought one. This tis is very good quality. Dang it I wish I hadn't been so anxious when I saw the Bobbin head last year!!
