I set up a compressed target 12" card board, Styrofoam:and a archery target with a new insert foam center: 50 lbs
bow martin saber
muzzy 100 grain 3 blade shot at 20 yardsenetration was threw target and about 8" of the arrow went threw the target.
30 yards same set up and only about 4" of shaft exit the 12" target
muzzy 4 blade 100 grain about the same as the 3 blade 20 yards and 30 yards
thunderheads 100 grain 20 yards same target arrow went threw the target complete i tried a few at the same distance same results
I then also went back to 30 yards and same out come the shaft went threw the target.
I did find all 100 grains heads shot the same as field tips but he thunderheads seem to penetrate deeper
I forgot to mention shaft are carbon 400 beman

RE: TESTED A FEW BROADHEADS TO DAY
I'm not sure if a broadhead's ability to penetrate a foam target has any direct application to how well they penetrate big game animals. The foam targets stop arrows by friction against the shaft.
