G5's any opinions??
I have been shooting the regular 3 blade 100 gr Muzzys ever since I started bowhunting which was only 2 years ago. Never had any problems with them. I only had one bloodtrail that wasn't loaded down with blood and that was cuz I shot high. They fly good I guess... I can't get them to group like my field points but they seem like they go about 2-3 inches in different directions. All i see on tv is people using G5 broadheads. I don't see a lot of people on here talking about them. I was just wondering if maybe some of ya'll shoot them and how they do??

Thats all my friends and family shoot. We have been shooting them for a couple of years now with great results. They offer just about anything you could possibly ask for in broadheads. If your looking for a quality large cutting diameter rear deploying expandable they have the new tekan with a 1.5" cut, the striker is a 3 blade replaceable blade head with a 1 1/8" cut, the montec is one tough head and the new striker magnum is a 1.5" cutting diameter fixed blade. Oh and they have the SGH which is just unbelievable on small game. Ive shot all of the heads and with a well tuned bow they will group right with your field tips.

I wouldn't say the Muzzies fly good if they aren't grouping like your field points. I recently switched from Muzzy 3-blades to G5 Montecs and don't regret my decision. The G5's were easier to tune for me and seem to fly very well. I can't speak on how it compares to the Muzzy in terms of what it can do to an animal, but we'll see in a week or two. I like the idea of a cut-on-contact broadhead though, and have heard good things about them.

I looked at the montecs and they don't look like they would penetrate as good as the muzzys because they don't have a hard tip. The strikers have a hard tip and those are the ones I might be considering. Because they look like they will penetrate better if I hit bone. But I have heard that they don't leave a good bloodtrail. I haven't heard anything about the Tekan.... how are those compared to the rages?? I have been looking at them and well they look awesome... the only bad thing I have heard is that they sometimes don't open. A 2" cutting path is pretty impressive>

I have used the montec's since they arrived! You will be impressed with the preformance, they will most always completely pass-thru no matter where shot placement with a moderate poundage bow. But remember that although all, let me repeat that, ALL broadheads say they are sharp, razor edged, scalpel sharp, ect. they need a touch-up. The montec's are not a exception here. I use a diamond stone (G5) and touch them up right out of the package. I have had complete pass thru shots with both shoulders, spine and rib hits and could have used the head again for another shot with out resharpening if I had needed...

The G5 striker shoots extremely well. It's a little smaller at 1 /8" cut but flies just as well at the rage 2 blade out to 45 yds and that's all the farther I went on them. My strikers shoot very close to my field tips..in fact I don't move my sight at all. If I shoot field tips and G5's together it's hard to tell the difference.
