for $100 I USE THE MOULTRIE 4.0 W/ FLASH. Works great for me. I get great pics. Only things that one may be concerned with is the battery life in cold weather ( 40 deg or less) and mine has a hard time keeping the exact time stamp. Other than that... i love mine and i will buy again...

I have heard a lot of good things about Moultrie even though Ive never used one. I've only used Stealth Cams and have had very good luck with those.

For a no-nonsense reviews and advise on trail cameras there is no better website than:

http://www.chasingame.com/

They continually review and update all the various makes & models.

Happy pic taking and hunting (only 54 days to Opening Day here in RI)

if you are worried about theft then I would have to second the moultrie d40 (it's the only time I would recommend that camera). you should always cable lock the camera to a tree though. the moultries are a bit tougher to lock then some other models. all mine are locked with cables 100% of the time.

also, there is a trailcam forum on these boards with a lot more info then in archery gear review.

no cable will stop a thief from stealing camera, they will bust it to pieces if they cant get it.

the latest thing they are doing is buying RECHARGEABLE DREMEL TOOL at wal-mart and can cut the cable in 15 seconds and lock too.

many treestands are being stoled this way.

they even cut tree down to get it off.[:@]

Check out trailcampro.com for good reviews and tests on most major cameras out there.
