BEST PIN SIGHT DIA. - HUNTING

WHAT ARE YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH PIN SIGHT DIAMETERS FOR HUNTING DEER? I AM USING A .029 AND IT SEEMS TO COVER A LOT MORE OF THE ANIMAL THAN I WOULD LIKE; BUT I'M JUST NOT SURE THAT A SMALLER DIAMETER (LIKE .O19 WOULD BE THE BEST THING TO DO.....YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Kanga: You use .019 sight diameter. Thanks for your reply, but what are the pros and cons of this diamenter for hunting? I anxiously await your reply.

I find the larger pins (.029)get a halo effect, block out where I want to hit.

When hunting I want to pick a hair and hit it, the down side to .019 pins is unless you have extra fiber wrap or what ever they are slow to show in first light and will dull before last light restricting your early and late hunting time.

.19 is the way to go... with a good sight will bring in plenty of light.

Kanga & Odom: Thanks much for your reply. I have an HHA single pin sight, and I also have an auxillary blue light for a 'boost' of light when needed; I greatly appreciate your thoughts and recommendations....and I believe I will follow them....I will be calling HHA to order an .019 pin on Monday....I strongly feel your both on-the-money about this....the .029 has been bothering me for some time now, when I shoot target at home, I keep seeing that prism or halo effect....and I dont like that....even though I continue to shoot fairly well at (say) 20 yrds., I just plain feel uncomfortable trying to set my pin sight exactly where I want it. Your replies are very valuable.....and thank you once more.
