Certainly looks like it would work. Does the bracket that goes through the limb just make a right angle, or does it have a "T" on it? Only possible flaw I see is that the attachment point to the limbs might want to slip towards the cam as the bow is pressed.

The Bowmaster Portable Bow press ($approx 40) is much safer than using a ratchet strap and probably costs about the same or less. The issue I have with a ratchet strap is you have very little control over releasing the tension or even the amount of compression. With the Bowmaster you simply turn the bolt.

The pic above is for solid limbs, yes it is a T handle, I will be getting the attachment for split limbs which also works on solid limb bows.
There are pics of both attachments on this site below. The pic below is of the split limb version I ordered.

RE: Portable Bow Press

Just wanted to let those know that are interested in a portable bow press that I got this one in the mail today and boy is it slick. Why couldn't I think of something like this??? Simple, Portable and $35 Dollars!

I didn't really care for the way the Split Limb Adapter on the Bow Master is designed. Too much pressure on the edge of the limb tips and doesn't look to be as stable/solid.
