I heard that Nikon makes their glass in house and that Bushnell gets thier's from outside vendors. I don't know what difference that makes. That said, I am considering a Bushnell Scout for both rifle and bow.

I have them both....starting with the Busnell Scout with ARC....now also have the Nikon Archers choice. The Busnell for some reason wouldn't range on occasion and the numbers are very small. I'm not sure what reason but it wouldn't range my Turkey decoys...ticked me off. The Nikon is a little faster getting the results, bigger numbers well put together. If you are only looking to do 100 yds the Nikon is the hands down winner. The case is nice and very well thought out with a magnet lid in front of the laser to keep it quiet. If you are a gun guy too then I'd do the Bushnell for the range and ballistics. To me this is like comparing a Beretta to a Remington though, Bushnell is ok but it's average quality. I have the Bushnell with the original box like new....

It seems that from this forum, as well as on several other that I frequent, the Nikons generally get the nod for the better LRF, between the models you mentioned.Personally, I spent the extra money for the Leicas and have never looked at the Nikon and the Bushnell products the same way again! The optical quality doesn't even compare and I also like the RED square display in the Leica model MUCH better than the cheaper LRF's on the market.

I'd like something longer than 100 yards as I like to target shot out to 300 yards. So if that's the case it looks like the bushnell is for me then right?
"like new in box" does that mean it's for sale? let me know how much.

i love my bushnell..its my first time ever owning a rang finder...so i don't know how those expansive ones work...the bushnell you can see very clear in the lens with fastyardreadings...i don't know what else a rang finder would need???
